Probate

We anticipate that your probate case will take between 10-15 hours work at £230 per hour. Any fixed fee will be by percentage (5%).

How long will this take (2-3 months)

On average, estates that fall within this range are dealt with within 2-3 months. Typically, obtaining the grant of probate takes between 2-3 weeks once the application is submitted. Collecting assets then follows, which can take between 3-6 weeks. Once this has been done, we can distribute the assets, which normally takes 3-6 weeks.

Potential additional cost

If there is no will or the estate consists of any share holdings (stocks and bonds) there are likely to be additional costs depending on the complexity of the case.

Dealing with the sale or transfer of any property in the estate is not included.

Employment Law

  • Up to £10,000 (value of the claim) we charge £1,200 fixed fee.
  • Over £10,000 (value of the claim) we charge fixed fee by percentage (15%).
  • Claim for significant value fees may be negotiable.

Timescales

The time that it takes from taking your initial instructions to the final resolution of your matter depends largely on the stage at which your case is resolved. If a settlement is reached during pre-claim conciliation, your case is likely to take 2-8 weeks. If your claim proceeds to a Final Hearing, your case is likely to take more like 6-9 months (depending on when the Tribunal lists the case for hearing). This is just an estimate and we will of course be able to give you a more accurate timescale once we have more information and as the matter progresses.
